What Does It Cost You?
Clients paying for speech therapy privately will need to contact our office at (717) 569-8972 to find out the current therapy rates. Like other forms of therapy, the session charge is time-based. Sessions are usually 30-minutes, 45-minutes, or 60-minutes in length and are based upon your needs.
SpeechCare takes payment by credit card, check, or cash. Payment is due at the end of each session unless prior arrangements have been made. We have worked with many of our clients to set up a therapy schedule that fits their budget and their need for services.
SpeechCare does not accept any health insurances, Medicare or Medicaid at this time. Many health insurance plans cover speech therapy only when it is “medically appropriate” as a result of disease, trauma, congenital anomalies or previous therapeutic processes (such as surgery). Therapy that is considered “primarily educational” is often not covered. Please contact your own insurance company to check on the specific terms of your plan and any possible restrictions or requirements.
If your insurance will cover your speech therapy services, we can provide you with a statement at the end of each session. We make it easier for you to receive the reimbursement from your health insurance company. You may be able to submit the statements on your own to apply to your deductible or for you to be reimbursed.
An Important Caution about insurance and Speech Therapy. There have been cases where a health insurance initially authorizes speech therapy only to withdraw that authorization at a later date during their reviews. Any money that the insurance has paid out must be returned to them.
If you are receiving your services through Birth to Three Early Intervention or through your school, there is no cost to you. To learn if you might be eligible for Birth to 3 Early Intervention, click here.
Contracted rates are negotiated with the contracting agency.
