History of SpeechCare, Inc. Speech- language pathologist Roberta Kornfield began seeing private speech therapy clients in 1985 at a city location in Lancaster, Pa. Her emphasis was on providing high quality, creative, individualized services. Family members were encouraged to participate in the therapy session. In 1987 she moved her solo practice six miles to a suburban location in East Petersburg. In 1989 her practice was named SpeechCare. SpeechCare became incorporated in Pennsylvania in 2000. As the number
of clients has increased, experienced and qualified staff has been added
to meet the growing demand. SpeechCare has expanded to provide private
speech-language therapy at the Lancaster location, in-home speech-language
therapy, and physical therapy for the 0-3 Early Intervention Programs
for Lancaster, Lebanon, Dauphin, and York counties.
